Katy Junior High student receives recognition from NASA
A Katy Junior High School student has been chosen to be featured in the Children’s Artwork Calendar for NASA. The picture, created by sixth-grader Sylvie Mei Lim, was selected over numerous other submitted artworks from across the globe.

Katy ISD Education Foundation a finalist in national competition
The Katy ISD Education Foundation has been honored as a finalist for the 2017 Chick-fil-a True Inspiration Award. The nonprofit aims to provide educational grants to teachers in the Katy ISD district. The $75,000 award, which recognizes nonprofits that support and inspire youth, will be given to one of the four finalists. Community members are encouraged to vote before the October 17 deadline.

Katy ISD Partners in Education to Celebrate Mentors at Ties and Tiaras
Katy ISD will celebrate the time, effort and heart of KEYS mentors across the District while supporting KEYS Scholarships at Ties & Tiaras on March 5 from 5:30–7:30 p.m. NOAH'S of Katy, located at 21402 Merchants Way, was selected as this year's venue. This year's festivities include honoring the 2015 Mentors of the Year and KEYS Scholarship Sponsors, along with back-to-back entertainment provided by five Katy ISD high school show choirs and the Mayde Creek High School Cripple Creek Fiddlers. Also joining the event will be the Taylor High School student artists who created this year
